Public Records
As public bodies, South Dakota school districts must operate in an open and transparent manner, providing citizens with access to government except in those limited circumstances established by state and federal law.
Effective July 1, 2009, public records are based on a “presumption of openness.” Generally speaking, “presumption of openness” means that public records are available for public inspection unless deemed private by statue.

PUBLIC RECORDS TRAINING
