ASBSD Better Boardsmanship Award of Merit
In any job, continued learning is essential to continued success. To recognize the efforts school board members make to improve in their important leadership roles, the ASBSD Board of Directors has established the Better Boardsmanship recognition program.

QUALIFICATIONS
School board members qualify for the ASBSD Better Boardsmanship Award of Merit by attending approved learning programs, serving in leadership roles at the local, state and national level, and for participating in other activities that demonstrate a commitment to improving as a board member.
Each learning program, service or activity is assigned Better Boardsmanship points. To be eligible for the ASBSD Better Boardsmanship Award of Merit, an individual school must earn at total of 50 points in a given year. A list of approved activities and their point values are contained on the application form.
RECOGNITION
School board members will be officially recognized and presented with the ASBSD Better Boardsmanship Award of Merit. In addition, ASBSD will encourage and facilitate recognition in your local community.
APPLICATION
To apply for the ASBSD Better Boardsmanship Award of Merit, individual school board members must complete and return the an application form each year. A total of 50 points is required each year to earn recognition. To ensure annual recognition, the deadline for applications is June 15.
